Marley Spoon Group SE Strengthens Profitability in Q1 2025

Marley Spoon Group SE, a leading global meal kit provider, reported a notable improvement in profitability for Q1 2025 despite a decrease in net revenue. The company achieved an EBIT of €(3.8) million, reflecting a €3.8 million improvement compared to the previous year. Additionally, Marley Spoon sustained a record high contribution margin of 35.0%, an increase of 60 basis points year-over-year.

Despite a 7.4% drop in net revenue to €74.7 million, attributed to reduced marketing vouchers and investments, the firm enhanced operational efficiency. The operating EBITDA margin improved by 60 basis points, maintaining six consecutive positive quarters.

Regionally, the United States posted strong order frequency and average order value growth, contributing to a 142 basis point increase in the contribution margin. Australia and Europe also saw improvements in order metrics, aiding profitability despite external challenges like Cyclone Alfred.
