Net digital AG Expands in Payment Sector with Licensed Facilitator Status

On 28 April 2025, net digital AG announced an expansion of its digital payment services. Its subsidiary, mobile business engine GmbH, will operate as a licensed Payment Facilitator starting summer 2025. The move is expected to enhance net digital AG's value chain, thereby increasing efficiency and earnings from the fiscal year 2025.

By leveraging its existing BaFin license, mbe GmbH will offer merchants fast access to traditional acquirer functionalities without becoming one. This will allow instant onboarding and centralized control of payment processes. The solution reduces administrative burdens for merchants and simplifies technical and regulatory complexities.

Theodor Niehues, CEO of net digital AG, noted that this strategy aims to deepen group value creation and enhance their margin profile, signaling potential growth with existing clients and new customer segments.
