New Star Investment Trust Reports Annual Financial Performance

New Star Investment Trust PLC has released its unaudited financial results for the year ending 30th June 2025. The company focused on total return through capital growth and income recorded a net asset value of £121.14 million, a decrease from £137.86 million in the previous year, representing a decline of 12.13%. The net asset value per ordinary share fell to 170.56p, while shares traded at 110.00p, marking a 16.35% drop in market price.

The company managed a total return of 2.08%, contrasting with better performances from peer indices. Revenue return per share increased slightly to 4.25p from 4.05p, but the capital return was a negative (0.21)p. Shareholders were issued a 24.00p B Share redemption, significantly impacting returns.

A final dividend of 1.85p was proposed, totaling an annual return of 3.55p per share. Despite these challenges, the trust retains a strong cash position, expected to persist. The investment outlook appears favorable with potential benefits from monetary easing in equity markets.
