RETORTE's New Facility Boosts Selenium Production

RETORTE GmbH, a subsidiary of Aurubis AG and a global leader in high-purity selenium production, has inaugurated a new selenium facility in Röthenbach. This €7 million investment marks RETORTE's largest to date, enhancing production capacity by 20%. The facility is designed according to good manufacturing practice (GMP) standards, ensuring high purity and catering to future markets in pharmaceuticals and food technology.

RETORTE aims to expand globally, focusing on South America and Asia. The facility, which includes advanced exhaust and filter systems, also strengthens RETORTE’s ability to produce essential selenium-based products, such as selenite and selenate, used in consumer goods like table salt and vitamin products.

Mayor Klaus Hacker praised the initiative for bolstering Röthenbach’s international technological standing, emphasizing RETORTE's commitment to regional development.
