Nordex Group Secures 56 MW Order for Germany Repowering Project
Hamburg, 5 June 2025. The Nordex Group has announced a new order from Umwelt Management AG (UMaAG) for the Drochtersen repowering project in Lower Saxony, Germany. The project includes the delivery and installation of eight N163/6.X wind turbines, accompanied by a 20-year premium service contract to ensure reliability.
The first turbine is set for installation in autumn 2026, with full project commissioning expected by early 2027. This initiative aims to enhance energy efficiency and output, replacing older turbines with advanced models. UMaAG's CEO, Uwe Leonhardt, expressed confidence in Nordex's role in the region's energy transition.
Karsten Brüggemann of Nordex highlighted the project's potential for improving energy generation and space efficiency in Germany's onshore wind farms. The Nordex Group continues to expand its footprint with significant projects like this.
