VERBUND Green Power and Nordex Group Sign 700 MW Wind Turbine Agreement
VERBUND Green Power and the Nordex Group have formalized a multi-year agreement to supply wind turbines, potentially totaling 700 MW. This collaboration aims to support VERBUND’s future wind projects across Austria, Germany, Spain, Italy, Romania, and Albania until 2030. The agreement was signed in Madrid on January 16, 2026.
The partnership reinforces VERBUND's Mission V strategy to enhance renewable energy capabilities, aiming for wind and solar to comprise 25% of total generation by 2030. Currently, VERBUND operates 1.2 GW of renewable capacity in Europe.
The turbines from Nordex, designed for efficient energy conversion, will play a vital role in ensuring an accelerated energy transition in competitive markets. This agreement highlights VERBUND’s strategic expansion in wind energy, building on its historic strength in hydropower.
