NXT Energy Solutions Acquires Complete Ownership of SFD Technology
NXT Energy Solutions Inc., based in Calgary, has announced the acquisition of the remaining rights to the SFD® technology. This transaction, completed on December 23, 2025, grants NXT full ownership of this technology across all applications and geophysical targets. Previously, NXT held these rights specifically for hydrocarbon and geothermal uses.
Bruce Wilcox, NXT's CEO, emphasized that this consolidation simplifies the company's future endeavors. While focusing primarily on the energy sector, NXT is positioned to explore adjacent opportunities as they appear. The terms of the transaction were arm's-length. The heir of the former CEO, George Liszicasz, remains a major NXT shareholder.
