OHB Partners with Schwarz Digits for AI in Satellite Manufacturing
OHB AG has announced a strategic partnership with Schwarz Digits to incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) in satellite manufacturing. This collaboration aims to leverage AI potential in industrialized satellite production, emphasizing Europe's digital sovereignty. Schwarz Digits is developing a new data center in Lübbenau, set to bolster AI model operations by the end of 2027.
CEO Marco Fuchs highlights the importance of AI and space technology in driving European independence and resilience. Meanwhile, Dr. Alexander Schellong points to the New Space economy as a key growth market for European sovereignty by integrating AI and cybersecurity with OHB's innovations.
The partnership allows OHB to utilize Schwarz Digits' infrastructure for satellite projects and manufacturing processes. This includes design optimization and training AI models for analyzing data from satellite constellations. CTO Kristina Wagner emphasizes that this alliance enhances technological autonomy in Europe.
