John Textor files a lawsuit against Lyon
On July 30, 2026, Eagle Football Group and its subsidiary OL SASU were summoned to appear before the Commercial Court of Lyon. This action was brought by John Textor, former head of the Group, and Eagle Football Holdings LLC, with a hearing scheduled for September.
John Textor is claiming €2.5 million in management fees and €18.4 million for a short-term advance. This action comes after the release of debts owed by the OL group to Textor and its affiliates, coinciding with the sale of a controlling stake by Eagle Football Holdings Bidco.
Olympique Lyonnais (OL) describes this act as yet another attempt at destabilization and pledges to respond through appropriate legal channels to defend its interests. A criminal complaint has also been filed regarding alleged past illegal activities.
