Enterprise Software Updates Challenge IT Teams

Research by Original Software reveals that updates to business-critical software are surpassing the testing capabilities of IT teams in the US. A survey of 500 senior IT leaders showed that 75% believe software updates arrive faster than their organizations can test, threatening business continuity.

Cloud adoption compounds the issue, with 92% of respondents indicating increased testing needs, and 54% noting significant growth. However, testing practices lag; 36% rely on manual methods, while only 6% use highly automated testing.

Carl Andrews, CEO of Original Software, suggests enhancing automation in testing to alleviate manual efforts and retain business user insights. He emphasizes that software testing must evolve strategically to ensure organizational resilience as changes accelerate.
