OSCP Introduces ArduPilot Support for MK2 IMU Family

OSCPS Motion Sensing Inc. announced that its MK2 family of inertial measurement units now supports ArduPilot. This enhancement provides drone builders with a downloadable ArduPilot driver, available at docs.oscp.com, with integration documentation and SDKs. OSCP is meeting with drone manufacturers at the Commercial UAV Expo in Las Vegas. The new driver connects MK2 units to ArduPilot systems via standard RS-422 or CAN-FD protocols.

The MK2 series includes the compact MK2M2 MEMS unit, which can be upgraded to the more advanced photonic MK2E2 for improved performance. The photonic units are less sensitive to vibration, maintaining bias stability where MEMS units may not. In a comparison test, OSCP’s photonic IMU demonstrated superior accuracy, deviating only 5.7 meters from the target, compared to 20.5 meters for a MEMS device.

Based in Montreal, OSCP designs and manufactures these sensors in Canada, ensuring they are ITAR-free. The company focuses on providing tactical-grade performance for various industries, including aerospace and defense.
