Ottobock Expands Patient Care Network with Blatchford Acquisition

Ottobock SE & Co. KGaA has announced a strategic acquisition of Blatchford Ltd.'s Patient Care business in Norway for approximately EUR 110 million. This deal marks Ottobock's entrance into the Norwegian market, expanding its Patient Care network by eight locations and adding 200 employees.

The acquisition aligns with Ottobock's expansion strategy, enhancing local presence and integrating new locations into its existing network. This integration leverages centralized fabrication and digital platforms, while allowing Ottobock to receive user feedback for product development.

Blatchford Norway A/S, a key player in the Norwegian prosthetics and orthotics market, reported recent revenues of EUR 40 million. The acquisition is expected to maintain Ottobock's profitability and allow for high single-digit revenue growth.

Ottobock's CEO, Oliver Jakobi, emphasized how the acquisition strengthens their local presence and creates synergies. Blatchford's CEO, Paul Roberts, expressed confidence in the transaction, highlighting benefits for patients and staff under Ottobock's leadership.

Previously, Ottobock integrated other local leaders, such as Sahva in Denmark and Livit in the Netherlands, reinforcing its commitment to expanding its Patient Care network globally.
