Redwood AI Corp. Expands AI Models for Enhanced Chemical Synthesis

Redwood AI Corp., based in Vancouver, has announced preliminary findings from its collaboration with the University of British Columbia to enhance its AI-driven chemical synthesis platform, Reactosphere. The collaboration has yielded new models that expand the platform's evaluated chemical reactions from 4 million to over 21 million, a 425% increase.

The upgraded models aim to overcome traditional AI limitations by interpreting the sequence of chemical events during reactions. Preliminary results indicate improved predictive insights, potentially aiding chemists in identifying promising synthetic routes and minimizing unwanted by-products.

Supported by the Mitacs Accelerate program, the initiative underscores Redwood’s goal to improve synthesis planning for pharmaceutical, biotech, and chemical industries. CEO Louis Dron emphasizes the potential of combining these models with existing systems to enhance route feasibility understanding.
