Rexel sells its Finnish operations to Ahlsell

Electrical distribution giant Rexel is set to sell its Finnish operations to Ahlsell, a renowned Nordic distributor. This transaction reflects Rexel's strategy to actively manage its business portfolio by focusing on markets with high value-added potential. Last year, Rexel's Finnish operations generated sales of €254 million, supported by a team of 311 employees. Since 2021, the company has increased its sales by €2.7 billion through acquisitions while divesting €600 million of business, thus fostering a strategic rebalancing.

The sale to Ahlsell is still subject to regulatory approval, particularly with regard to competition laws. This new step is part of the group's ongoing transformation process, which seeks to streamline its operations while targeting the most promising market segments.
