Sandoz and Henlius Forge Major Biosimilar Collaboration

On August 17, 2026, Sandoz Group AG announced a strategic partnership with Shanghai Henlius Biotech, marking a significant step forward in the biosimilar market. This collaboration is poised to produce up to 10 biosimilar assets, enhancing Sandoz's already robust pipeline from 39 to potentially 46 assets. Among these assets are biosimilars of cetuximab, evolocumab, and belimumab, with an option for recombinant human hyaluronidase.

The agreement grants Sandoz global commercialization rights outside China, while Henlius will handle development and manufacturing. The total collaboration value could reach USD 322 million, including near-term payments of up to USD 100.5 million for initial assets.
