Finnish Nuclear Ship Startup SEATOM Joins NATO's Accelerator Programme

SEATOM Technologies Oy, a Finnish nuclear ship startup, has been selected for NATO's 2026 Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) Challenge Programme. SEATOM's innovative modular micro nuclear reactor system, designed for marine and extreme environments, was chosen under NATO DIANA's Operations in Extreme Environments Challenge.

Over the next six months, SEATOM will participate in DIANA's Core Programme, collaborating with the DualTech Accelerator in Turin, Italy. This initiative affords SEATOM access to world-class testing facilities, defence market expertise, and NATO end-user engagement.

The programme will provide SEATOM with €100,000 in initial funding, with opportunities for further financial support for testing and validation activities. The programme aims to enhance SEATOM's technological readiness and dual-use offering in the defence sector.
