SMA Adjusts 2025 Forecast and Expands Restructuring Measures

SMA Solar Technology AG has revised its sales and earnings forecast for the fiscal year 2025. The Home & Business Solutions division has shown a significant decline in anticipated sales during the third quarter. This downturn will lead to several one-time effects, including inventory devaluations and impairments. The total estimated negative impact is between €170 million and €220 million.

Given the challenging market conditions, particularly in residential, commercial, and industrial segments, SMA is expanding its restructuring measures in the Home & Business Solutions division. The focus will be on refining the product portfolio, enhancing the use of international locations, and improving service efficiency, aiming for annual cost savings of over €100 million.

As a result, the company has adjusted its earnings guidance for the current year, with an expected EBITDA ranging from €–80 million to €–30 million, down from the previous €70 million to €80 million. Sales forecasts are now between €1,450 million and €1,500 million, slightly lower than the earlier guidance.
