SMA Group's 2024 Performance Affected by Market Challenges and Restructuring

SMA Solar Technology AG reported a challenging year in 2024, with group sales falling by 19.7% to €1,530.0 million compared to €1,904.1 million in 2023. The EBITDA significantly declined from €311.0 million to −€16.0 million, largely due to one-time inventory devaluations and restructuring costs. Consequently, the EBIT dropped to −€93.1 million from €269.5 million in the previous year.

The Home Solutions and Commercial & Industrial Solutions segments experienced substantial sales declines, whereas the Large Scale & Project Solutions segment saw a 39.1% increase in sales to €1,175.8 million, contributing positively to the overall performance.

For 2025, SMA Solar Technology AG projects sales between €1,500 million and €1,650 million, with an EBITDA ranging from €70 million to €110 million. The company plans to discuss these results further in a virtual press conference and a call for analysts and investors.
