Societe Generale launches share buyback program
On March 3, 2025, Société Générale confirmed the start of a share buyback program as of February 10, 2025. The objective is to cancel shares for an amount of €872 million. Necessary authorizations have been obtained from the supervisory authorities. The buybacks comply with the conditions established by the General Meeting of May 22, 2024. They are carried out on platforms where the shares are admitted, such as Euronext Paris.
From February 24 to 28, 2025, Société Générale repurchased 31% of the total target, or 0.9% of the capital. The liquidity contract with Rothschild is temporarily suspended during this period.
