STMicroelectronics launches local production of microcontrollers in China

STMicroelectronics announces the start of volume production of STM32 microcontrollers manufactured entirely in China. This initiative is part of a strategy to localize production for Chinese customers. The first models are the high-performance STM32H7 series. Local production of the performance- and security-focused STM32H5 series and the entry-level STM32C5 series is planned by the end of 2026.

In partnership with Huahong, STMicroelectronics has established a localized supply chain covering all stages of manufacturing and testing. This collaboration strengthens a secure and resilient supply chain with guaranteed global compatibility. This model enables dual sourcing, providing Chinese customers with products of consistent quality, whether manufactured locally or elsewhere.
