Asda Launches VusionGroup's Electronic Shelf Labels Nationwide
Asda, a prominent UK grocery retailer, has announced the nationwide rollout of VusionGroup's electronic shelf edge labels (ESLs) across its extensive network of Express convenience stores. With plans to implement this technology in over 250 locations, Asda aims to boost on-shelf availability and streamline operations.
Following a successful trial in Manchester, the deployment will automate shelf pricing and enhance customer service by freeing up staff for other responsibilities. Approximately 700,000 digital displays will be installed, providing detailed product information, including allergen warnings via QR codes.
As part of Asda's expansion strategy, up to 20 new Express stores will open by year-end, each equipped with ESLs from launch, showcasing Asda's commitment to innovation and enhanced customer experience.
