Strategic Metals Acquires Yukon Coal Deposit

Strategic Metals Ltd. has acquired two coal licenses for the Division Mountain thermal coal deposit, located near Whitehorse, Yukon. This site is within territories belonging to several First Nations, with whom Strategic plans to collaborate on the project.

The Division Mountain deposit contains a historical measured resource of 52.5 million tonnes of bituminous coal. Plans include using this resource for a clean coal-fired power plant, intended to replace current diesel generators in Yukon. The local coal supply could significantly address the region's growing energy demands.

Past exploration at Division Mountain included various drilling methods and identified a historical proven reserve of 26.4 million tonnes. The demand for electricity in Yukon is projected to rise by 50% by 2035, emphasizing the importance of local energy solutions like this project.
