Taranis Resources Plans Extensive Exploration in Historic Silver Cup District
Taranis Resources Inc. has announced plans for a comprehensive 2026 exploration program in the Thor project area, spanning over 6,000 hectares in the historic Silver Cup Mining District. The company has completed a detailed geological and geophysical study, revealing significant potential for extending the Thor deposit.
The study indicates promising extensions under the Ferguson rockslide, highlighting unexplored areas with historical reports of high-grade gold and silver. Taranis intends to conduct further airborne geophysical surveys to understand the Silver Cup Anticline's subsurface geology better. Additionally, efforts are underway to gain access to the east side of Ferguson Creek, previously restricted for 70 years.
The Borr Zone discovery in 2025 has unearthed deeper insights into the Thor deposit, suggesting a split by a lamprophyre dyke. Historic data points to further potential beneath Great Northern Mountain.
