TARS Makes Mark at WAIC 2026 with AWE Model Triumph

At the recent World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC 2026) in Shanghai, TARS introduced its AWE embodied foundation model, earning the esteemed SAIL Award for innovation. The event, held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center, demonstrated TARS's commitment to "Trustworthy Physical AI." CEO Dr. Chen Yilun unveiled AWE 3.5, an advanced model enhancing task efficiency and interaction.

AWE 3.5, developed with over a million hours of human-centric data, outperformed its predecessor, Pi 0.5, in executing complex tasks. The model's unique "pre-training + post-training" paradigm supports scalable improvement. TARS displayed the model's prowess through robots engaging in intricate tasks, aiming to expand its dataset further by year's end.

The conference featured TARS's industrial applications and collaborations, highlighting a full-scale automotive wiring production line, emphasizing reliability and value in manufacturing. Additionally, DexHand, a robotic hand, showcased its dexterity through live performances, reflecting TARS's broader vision for robust physical AI capabilities.
