Thyssenkrupp Nucera Secures Key Contract for Jubail Plant Expansion
Thyssenkrupp Nucera has been awarded a contract by Saudi Arabia's Chemical Marketing and Distribution Company (CMDC) to expand its chlor-alkali plant in Jubail Industrial City. Part of the Basic Chemical Industries Company (BCI), CMDC selected Thyssenkrupp for their energy-efficient chlor-alkali membrane technology adhering to high environmental standards. The contract is valued at approximately EUR 15 million and includes the supply, delivery, and provision of necessary equipment and engineering services.
BCI, one of Saudi Arabia's largest chemical companies, has collaborated with Thyssenkrupp for over a decade, strengthening their market position with previous projects in Dammam and Jubail. The expanded plant will produce chemicals like caustic soda and liquid chlorine, crucial for local markets and exports. This contract marks another milestone in the longstanding partnership between BCI and Thyssenkrupp Nucera, highlighting their commitment to sustainable industrial growth in line with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.
