Thyssenkrupp Nucera Sees Major Growth in Order Intake
Thyssenkrupp Nucera AG & Co. KGaA reported a significant rise in order intake for the second quarter, nearly quadrupling to EUR 316 million compared to the same period last year. This surge is driven by large projects in both Green Hydrogen (gH2) and Chlor-Alkali segments, boosting the order backlog to EUR 732 million.
The company secured a contract to build a 300-MW electrolyzer for Moeve in Southern Europe and a 260-MW green hydrogen project in India. Despite this growth, sales fell by 77% to EUR 50 million, influenced by increased costs and a pilot project termination. EBIT also decreased significantly due to these challenges.
The gH2 segment saw notable gains, with orders reaching EUR 176 million. Meanwhile, the Chlor-Alkali segment recorded orders worth EUR 140 million, fueled by a major Middle Eastern project. Free cash flow improved to EUR 9 million.
