U-blox Sells Dual Mode Communications Unit to Trident IoT

u-blox AG, headquartered in Thalwil, Switzerland, has announced the divestment of its dual mode cellular-satellite communications business to Trident IoT, based in California. The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed. This move follows u-blox's recent sale of its Cellular business in March 2025. Trident IoT gains a core development team along with the technology, enhancing its satellite communication capabilities.

u-blox CEO Stephan Zizala expressed satisfaction in partnering with Trident IoT, highlighting the continuity it offers to customers and the ongoing innovation in satellite communications. Michael Lamb, CEO of Trident IoT, noted the acquisition's potential to capitalize on the increasing role of satellite communications in the IoT sector.
