Alpac Capital Acquires Adria News Network from United Group
On May 29, 2026, Alpac Capital and United Group reached an agreement over the sale of Adria News Network (ANN). Alpac Capital, known for its ownership of Euronews, aims to maintain ANN's editorial independence and promote fact-based journalism. The sale ensures ANN's alignment with established governance and editorial principles.
United Group, a key player in Southeastern Europe's telecom sector, brought its news brands under the ANN banner earlier in 2026. These brands, reaching 16 million people, include N1 and Nova S. The sale process saw Alpac Capital selected for meeting governance standards and offering maximum value.
United Group will now concentrate on expanding its telecommunications and media operations in the EU. Regulatory approvals for the transaction are pending, with completion expected in the second half of 2026.
