Vallourec obtains "Investment Grade" rating from rating agencies
On April 16, 2025, Vallourec, a global specialist in seamless tubular solutions, announced a positive change to its credit rating. Fitch Ratings assigned the company a BBB- rating, placing Vallourec in the investment grade category for the first time since 2015. Moody's upgraded its rating from Ba2 to Ba1, while S&P Global maintained its BB+ rating but improved its outlook from neutral to positive.
Fitch highlights Vallourec's industrial optimization and cost reductions. S&P appreciates the company's increased resilience to cycles, while Moody's notes the successful transformation of its portfolio toward higher value-added products. Philippe Guillemot, Vallourec's CEO, believes these improvements confirm the success of the New Vallourec plan, launched in 2022, aimed at strengthening the company's competitiveness and financial strength.
