Veolia Enhances Hazardous Waste Treatment Capabilities
Veolia, a global leader in hazardous waste solutions, is expanding its treatment capacity with the addition of 530,000 tonnes per year by 2030. This aligns with its GreenUp program, aiming for a 50% increase in waste activity by 2030. The company has signed five tuck-in acquisitions in the U.S., Japan, and Brazil, valued at €300 million, boosting its capacity by 100,000 tonnes.
CEO Estelle Brachlianoff highlights hazardous waste treatment as crucial for industries facing environmental challenges. The demand is expected to grow by 3.5% annually until 2030, influenced by stricter regulations and shifting manufacturing activities.
Veolia's strategic growth also includes 285,000 tonnes of organic capacity by 2027 through new facilities across key global markets. These initiatives reinforce its role as a leading provider of decontamination solutions.
