Vergnet and Katsina State resume talks

Vergnet SA, a French specialist in renewable energies, is relaunching its discussions with the government of Katsina State, Nigeria. An important meeting took place in Ormes, where Governor Dr Dikko Umar Radda and his delegation were received. Since the end of 2024, discussions have intensified, particularly during the Nigerian state's visit to France.

The Katsina wind project, comprising 37 275 kW wind turbines with a total capacity of 10.1 MW, has remained inactive due to safety concerns. An audit mission by Vergnet is planned for 2025 to determine maintenance needs.

Discussions also include prospects for solar or hybrid installations on the same site. Vergnet is looking forward to this potential collaboration which could strengthen its international presence.
