Vulcan Energy's New Project Ludwig Unveils Promising Feasibility Results

Vulcan Energy Resources Limited has revealed a positive Preliminary Feasibility Study (PFS) for Project Ludwig, its second lithium and geothermal project in Germany. Located in the Upper Rhine Valley Brine Field, Project Ludwig builds on the success of Project Lionheart. The study highlights lower capital intensity with an estimated reduced CAPEX of €1.26 billion and promises strong returns with a pre-tax IRR of 25%.

Project Ludwig aligns with Vulcan's strategic growth model, offering an annual production capacity of 21,100 tonnes of battery-grade lithium carbonate and 3,125 GWh of renewable heat. The study indicates enhanced economic viability by leveraging existing infrastructure and technology from Lionheart, emphasizing low production costs and streamlined processes.

Vulcan’s CEO, Cris Moreno, noted the potential for phased development in the region, projecting future projects every 2-3 years. The strategy showcases a reproducible development approach with significant resource and geological potential, crucial for Europe's raw material supply chain.
