Vulcan Minerals Completes Drilling at Carbonear Project

Vulcan Minerals Inc. has concluded its initial drilling at the Carbonear Project in Newfoundland, with five diamond core holes totaling 1,087 meters. The project aims to explore a 12-kilometer belt known for sedimentary-hosted metal potential. This early-stage venture focused on identifying mineralization styles within this geologically promising area.

Drilling revealed pervasive iron sulfides, calcite vein-hosted sphalerite, galena, and disseminated chalcopyrite. The presence of copper suggests a high-temperature depositional environment, indicative of an active mineralized fluid system, inviting further exploration. The final results, pending detailed core logging, will guide subsequent endeavors.

Vulcan Minerals targets a specific stratigraphic zone with historical significance, previously identified for its base metal potential by Cominco. This zone exhibits unique magnetic and gravity anomalies, correlating with higher rock density. The project's progress reflects Vulcan's strategic focus on Newfoundland's mineral-rich belts.
