IONOS Leverages VyOS for Enhanced Network Scalability

VyOS Networks Corporation has announced the successful deployment of its network operating system across the Bare Metal platform of IONOS. This integration allows IONOS, a prominent European hosting and cloud provider, to develop a distributed, scalable, and high-performance network architecture.

Traditional centralized network designs constrained IONOS's scalability and presented risks to service continuity. By adopting VyOS, IONOS has transitioned to a safe and scalable distributed network. The deployment of hundreds of VyOS instances supports dynamic scaling and high availability at reduced costs.

The implementation delivers impressive performance, achieving speeds in the hundreds of Gbps, with a peak throughput of 20 Gbps per cluster. This migration has also eliminated single points of failure, boosting fault tolerance and service continuity.
