Fire in Marcinelle: WEB building partially destroyed

The board of directors of Warehouses Estates Belgium SA announced that one of its buildings located in Marcinelle was partially destroyed by an explosion followed by a fire that occurred on Friday, July 11 at 2:45 a.m. Although the material damage was considerable, only minor injuries were reported.

A security perimeter was established and the fire brought under control. The occupants of the apartments were relocated. A judicial investigation is underway to determine the cause of the explosion. The building, valued at €3.8 million at the end of 2024, was insured for fire risk and business interruption.
