Xilam Films Launches Adaptation of The Wolf

Xilam Films has announced its latest project, an animated feature adaptation of Jean-Marc Rochette's graphic novel The Wolf. This psychological thriller targets adult audiences and is slated for release in April 2027. The film combines 3D animation and traditional drawing techniques, promising a unique visual experience. Roschdy Zem and Virginie Efira will lead the voice cast.

The Wolf is directed by Benjamin Massoubre and Fursy Tessier, with a screenplay co-written by Sabine Dabadie. The project is being produced alongside partners Bidibul Productions, Goodfellas, ARP, and Crunchyroll, with the latter securing international streaming rights. The storyline of The Wolf revolves around a shepherd's quest for vengeance against a wolf threatening his peace.

The adaptation also receives support from various regional and national film bodies. The original graphic novel forms part of a trilogy that has sold 450,000 copies in France. It follows Rochette's previous success with Snowpiercer, adapted into a film and TV series internationally.
