Nebius to Build 310 MW AI Factory in Finland

Nebius has announced plans to construct a 310 MW AI factory in Lappeenranta, Finland, marking one of Europe’s largest AI compute facilities. The facility is expected to be operational by 2027, aligning with Nebius’s goal of securing over 3 GW of power by the end of 2026. This expansion follows Nebius’s recent upgrade of its Mäntsälä data center to 75 MW.

Located on a 100-acre site, the Lappeenranta factory will create substantial local economic benefits, offering up to 700 construction jobs and about 100 permanent positions once operational. This development highlights Nebius’s commitment to sustainable design, using a low-carbon energy mix and innovative cooling systems. The factory will also contribute to Finland's leading role in the AI ecosystem. Mayor Tuomo Sallinen praised the project for its potential to bolster local innovation and meet Europe’s AI demands.
