ZPMC Launches Innovative Smart Production Line for Container Spreaders

ZPMC has inaugurated its groundbreaking smart production line for container spreaders, operational since June 5, 2026. This development integrates digital manufacturing with a streamlined material-flow assembly system, aiming to enhance efficiency, traceability, and production capacity.

The line is tailored for high-mix, low-volume, and customized production. It replaces traditional labor-intensive methods with a flow-line assembly, improving coordination between information and material flows. This initiative signifies a shift towards smart manufacturing in the port machinery sector, utilizing pulse-line assembly methods.

The facility, spanning 180 meters by 30 meters, includes six workstations and leverages digital twins, 3D visualization, and advanced testing. Enhanced by 5G connectivity, IoT, and energy management, the line boasts improved production visibility and control. Annual output has surged from 850 to 1,500 units, with assembly time reduced from 15 to 3 days, doubling efficiency.
