ARTCLINE secures additional €3.4 million in funds to support commercialization of its ARTICE® immune cell therapy for treatment of septic shock

• ARTCLINE GmbH secures €3.4 million in new financing from existing and new investors, including a €1 million investment from MBG MV
• Funding will support market launch of ARTCLINE’s ARTICE^® therapy, which will build on the successful finalization of the ReActIF-ICE clinical trial

Rostock (Germany), September 9, 2026 – ARTCLINE, a biomedical company focused on the development of novel immune cell therapies for the treatment of septic shock, announces the successful completion of a new financing round totaling €3.4 million. The financing round includes a €1 million investment from Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Mecklenburg-Vorpommern mbH (MBG MV) and further commitments from both existing and new investors.

The funds will be used to support the launch of ARTICE^®, the company’s immune cell-based therapy for the treatment of septic shock. ARTCLINE is preparing to publish the topline results from its multicenter, randomized, controlled validation study ReActIF-ICE (NCT05442710) involving 142 patients, which has been recently completed and is currently in read out.

Sepsis and septic shock remain major challenges in intensive care medicine, with a significant unmet medical need. ARTCLINE is developing ARTICE^®, an allogeneic immune cell therapy designed to support key functions of the dysregulated immune system in patients with septic shock.

About Sepsis and Septic Shock

Despite continuous advances in research and medicine, the mortality rate associated with sepsis remains high. According to the WHO, approximately 48 million people suffer from sepsis each year, including about 20 million children under the age of five. It is estimated that one in five deaths worldwide is associated with sepsis.[1] In Germany alone, between 70,000 and 220,000 people die from sepsis each year.[2] Dysregulation of the immune system plays a central role in the course of the disease, particularly in the most severe form of sepsis, septic shock. While many patients survive the initial phase of septic shock thanks to modern intensive care measures, serious complications such as secondary infections and recurrent organ failure frequently occur later on, contributing significantly to the high mortality rate.
