Covivio successfully places €500 million of 7-year European Green Bonds
Covivio today successfully placed a €500 million EU Green Bond maturing in July 2033. The issue was nearly 3 times oversubscribed, reflecting bond investors' renewed confidence in the Group's credit quality. This new issuance, the second under the European Green Bond format, further reinforces Covivio's status as a pioneer in the green bond market within the real estate sector.
A bond issue at a 2.8% cost
The spread of the issuance is 105 basis points at 7 years. The investor coupon amounts to 4.1%. Thanks to Covivio’s strong hedging position, the average effective rate of the issuance is 2.8%.
This transaction will strengthen the Group's balance sheet, enabling to:
- (i) Reinforcing the Group’s debt maturity profile, with an average debt maturity increased to 4.9 years from 4.6 years at end-June 2026
- (ii) Further reinforce the Group's liquidity (€2bn);
- (iii) Maintain diversification of funding sources;
- (iv) Confirm an attractive average cost of debt, expected to be below 2.5% until the end of 2029.
For the record, in April 2026 Standard & Poor's confirmed Covivio's financial rating at BBB+, stable outlook, particularly praising the strength of the Group's diversified business model, robust operating performance and prudent financial policy.
Application will be made for these bonds to be admitted to trading on Euronext Paris. The final documentation relating to this bond issuance will be available on the websites of the Autorité des Marchés Financiers and Covivio. Settlement and delivery of the bonds and their admission to trading on Euronext Paris are expected to take place on 29 July 2026.
