Fortrade Highlights Trading Academy and Account Support as Core Platform Services
London, UK, September 20th, 2026, FinanceWire
Fortrade, an international CFD trading provider, has highlighted its Trading Academy and account support services as core parts of its trading platform as retail traders increasingly expect broader market access alongside educational resources and customer support. The company offers trading across forex, indices, commodities, shares and metals through its proprietary Fortrader platform and MetaTrader 4.
Chris Warburton, CEO of Fortrade, said the change reflects evolving expectations among retail traders, who increasingly consider educational resources, responsive support and clarity around trading costs alongside the range of available instruments.
"A few years ago, a wide instrument range was enough to stand out," Chris Warburton, CEO of Fortrade said. "Now traders expect that range, plus support that actually answers their questions, plus clarity about what they are paying and why. The bar has moved, and it has moved permanently."

Fortrade Highlights Trading Academy and Account Support
Part of the shift traces to how much more information retail traders now have access to. Market data, analysis, and commentary that used to sit behind institutional desks are now available directly to individual traders, which has changed what they consider a reasonable baseline before they will commit to a platform. A trader opening their first account is typically comparing that experience against tools they have already used elsewhere in their daily life, not against some abstract industry standard.
Fortrade has responded by treating its educational content and account support, delivered through its Trading Academy and support team, as core parts of the platform rather than supplementary extras. The instrument range spans forex, indices, commodities, shares, and metals, offered through the company's proprietary Fortrader platform alongside MetaTrader 4.
Warburton connects this directly to how Fortrade thinks about its own priorities. "Traders are more informed than they used to be, and that is a good thing," he said. "It means the platforms that succeed are the ones that respect that, rather than platforms built around the assumption that traders will not look closely."
Fortrade CEO Shares Views on Retail Trader Expectations
The practical effect, according to Warburton, is that brokerages can no longer compete primarily on account opening speed or headline spreads. Traders increasingly evaluate a platform the way they would evaluate any serious tool: on whether it holds up across ordinary use, not just on a first impression. That shift changes what a brokerage has to get right, and how much of it has to be right at once, rather than allowing a single strong feature to carry the rest.
That view aligns with broader industry data. Retail participation has been growing as a share of overall trading activity, and nothing in current market conditions suggests that trend is leveling off. As that participation grows, the expectations retail traders carry into their choice of brokerage grow with it, and platforms that were adequate a few years ago may no longer clear the bar traders now apply by default.
Warburton frames the shift as an opportunity rather than a pressure. He argues that brokerages treating higher expectations as a reason to improve, rather than a problem to manage, will be the ones still relevant to traders in five years, and that Fortrade's own priorities are built around that view rather than around defending an existing feature set.
Fortrade operates under regulation from the UK Financial Conduct Authority, alongside a Trading Academy covering courses, webinars, and market analysis resources for traders at different stages of experience. As with any leveraged product, CFD trading carries a high level of risk, and traders should ensure they understand that risk before opening a position.
