GL EVENTS, TRÉVISE PARTICIPATIONS AND
FIMALAC ENTER INTO EXCLUSIVE
NEGOTIATIONS TO CREATE A LEADING CULTURAL OPERATOR
GL EVENTS (FR0000066672, GLO), the integrated event industry group, has entered into exclusive negotiations with Fimalac for the purpose of acquiring the venue management, ticketing and show production activities operated by Fimalac Entertainment.
This strategic alliance between three major complementary players in the world of events, live entertainment and related services will result in the creation of a leading cultural operator.
The plan to acquire Fimalac Entertainment's activities is organised into two parts:
• GL events, through its Venues division, intends to acquire the management of regional event venues as well as the Salle Pleyel, the iconic Parisian concert hall;
• Trévise Participations will acquire all the show production activities, including Wetix, a provider of ticketing software solutions and services.
Pursuant to this transaction, Fimalac will acquire a 5% stake in Polygone, the controlling company of GL events Group. Éléonore Ladreit de Lacharrière will join the GL events Board of Directors as a director.
The proposed transaction must be presented to the employee representatives of the companies concerned, and its finalisation is also subject to obtaining the customary regulatory approvals. The closing of the proposed transaction is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2025.
Olivier Ginon, Chairman-CEO of GL events Group: "This transaction represents a major strategic alliance between three French event industry leaders fully in line with our development strategy directly based on our venue management expertise. I am also delighted to welcome Fimalac as a shareholder of Polygone and Éléonore Ladreit de Lacharrière as a new member of GL events' Board of Directors. These different developments reflect a shared and ambitious vision. ”
Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière, Chairman and CEO of Fimalac: "I am thrilled that Fimalac is joining forces with GL events and Trévise Participations to create a European entertainment group and will become a partner of Olivier Ginon within GL events' parent company to support its tremendous growth. Thanks to this partnership, Fimalac, which retains its Paris theatres, will continue to occupy a prominent role in promoting French culture.
Lionel Yvant, Chairman of the Governance Committee of Trévise participations: "This merger, which respects the independence of each of the partners, opens up a new chapter for Trévise Participations. Joining forces with industry leaders like GL events and Fimalac will enable us to keep pace with transformations in the cultural landscape and create new momentum in the world of performing arts and, in so doing, actively contribute to the strength of cultural activities and the accessibility of artistic creation. This partnership will also lay the groundwork for an unprecedented and ambitious dynamic at the European level based on innovation, diversity and excellence to support a cultural eco-system currently undergoing a major transformation".
