hep global Plans Solar Park with Battery Storage in Schongau
Güglingen, 27 January 2026 – hep global GmbH, a specialist in the development of solar projects, is expanding an existing solar park in Schongau, Bavaria, marking an important milestone: for the first time in Germany, the company is implementing a site with a fully integrated battery storage system. The project is being realized in cooperation with the photovoltaic specialist Volllast GmbH.
The project will have an installed capacity of approximately 8 MWp. The battery storage system will provide a capacity of 6.1 MWh and an output of 3 MW. Construction is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2026. With an annual electricity production of more than 9.3 million kilowatt-hours, the solar park will be able to supply around 2,744 households in the future. The operational lifetime is designed to be at least 20 years.
A key feature of the project is the integration of a high-performance battery storage system. It enables the intermediate storage of generated energy and demand-driven feed-in to the grid – even when there is no sunlight. In this way, the Schongau Solar Park contributes to a more stable and future-proof energy supply.
With all permits in place, the project is now entering the final phase of technical planning. Financing is being provided jointly by numerous individual investors, making the project a practical and tangible contribution to the energy transition.
First Project from the Partnership with Volllast GmbH
This project is the first to emerge from the strategic partnership with Volllast, which aims to jointly implement solar projects. Within the cooperation, Volllast GmbH – a photovoltaic specialist firmly rooted in southern Germany – contributes its expertise in local land acquisition and project development. In return, the hep global Group is responsible for technical planning, financing, construction, power marketing, and operational management. Further projects with Volllast in the region are planned for 2026.
