Huskeys Raises $27M Series A Led by Blackstone as AI Creates a New Security Challenge at the Network Edge

AI is changing internet traffic in ways that could force security teams to rethink how they protect applications.
For years, security controls at the network edge were largely designed around a relatively straightforward distinction: legitimate users should get through, while malicious traffic should be blocked. The emergence of autonomous AI agents is making that calculation more complicated, creating new forms of legitimate automated traffic at the same time attackers are using AI to find and exploit vulnerabilities faster.
That changing environment is central to Huskeys' $27 million Series A, led by Blackstone Innovations Investments and first reported by the Wall Street Journal. The funding brings the cybersecurity company's total capital raised to $35 million, including its previous $8 million seed round, as it develops a platform for managing security across increasingly complex network edge environments.
The round also included Merlin Ventures, Skinos Ventures, Zscaler Ventures, Okta Ventures, Bright Pixel Capital and SV Angel, along with individual investors including WAF and CAPTCHA inventor Eran Reshef and executives from Palo Alto Networks, Cloudflare, Check Point, AWS, Google, Microsoft and Intel.
AI Is Changing Both Sides of the Security Equation
The growth of AI is creating a challenge that extends beyond traditional malicious automation. Autonomous agents can now interact with applications as legitimate users, creating new patterns of traffic that security systems must understand without unnecessarily blocking them.
At the same time, AI is changing the threat landscape. Attackers are increasingly using AI-driven capabilities to identify and exploit vulnerabilities, increasing the pressure on security teams to detect changes and respond quickly.
That creates a difficult balancing act. Organizations need to reduce their exposure to malicious activity while allowing legitimate customers, users and AI agents to access their applications without disruption.
The problem is compounded by the underlying architecture of modern organizations. Internet-facing applications can rely on multiple cloud providers, CDNs, WAFs and network services, each with different controls and configurations.
Creating a Common Language for the Edge
Huskeys is addressing that complexity through what it calls Network Edge Security Management, or NESM. The platform is designed to provide a unified intelligence and control layer across an organization's existing network infrastructure rather than requiring companies to replace their current technologies.
It connects and orchestrates systems including CDNs, WAFs, cloud-native security solutions and network components such as load balancers, VPCs and security groups.
A central component is Huskeys' patented Unified Data Model, which creates a common layer of understanding across different environments and providers. The company says this allows insights, policies and actions to move across platforms while helping organizations maintain consistent security from the internet edge to the application.
The platform also provides continuous posture assessment, dynamic policy generation and orchestration. Its Virtual Patching capability is designed to allow organizations to mitigate vulnerabilities at the network edge while permanent fixes are developed and deployed within the application.
For a market increasingly defined by autonomous systems, Huskeys is also focused on helping organizations identify and manage agentic traffic.

Huskeys says its customers include TikTok, LEGOLAND, Ro, Blackstone and Hugging Face. The company is already analyzing more than a trillion web requests and thousands of network configurations every day across organizations worldwide.
Blackstone sees the changing structure of internet-facing applications as an opportunity for a different approach to security management.

The broader challenge facing organizations is unlikely to be solved simply by adding more tools to an already fragmented security stack.
