Rule #1 Investing Hosts Its Next Virtual Investing Workshop This August

Rule #1 Investing has opened enrollment for its next Virtual Investing Workshop, a three-day live program running August 21 to 23, 2026. The workshop is led by founder Phil Town, a three-time New York Times bestselling author who has taught more than two million people how to invest on their own.

The format is hands-on rather than passive. Over three days, participants work in small breakout groups with live Rule #1 coaches, practicing the same research and valuation steps they're being taught.

At the center of the training is the Four M's framework: Meaning, Moat, Management, and Margin of Safety. Students learn to ask whether a business is something they understand, whether it has a durable competitive advantage, whether it's run by honest and capable leadership, and whether its shares are trading at a price that protects the downside. It's the value investing approach the legendary investor Warren Buffett has used for decades, taught in plain English.

Town's message throughout is that investing well has less to do with predicting the market than with discipline and patience. By the end of the workshop, attendees are meant to walk away able to research a company, judge its numbers and its management, and decide whether the timing makes sense to buy. Enrollment includes access to the Rule #1 Toolbox, the valuation software Phil uses to calculate a company's sticker price and margin of safety.

The workshop is built for two kinds of learners. The first is the complete beginner who has never bought a stock and wants a clear, step-by-step place to start. 

The second is the mid-career saver who feels behind on retirement and wants more control over how their money is managed. Both leave with a repeatable process rather than a hot tip.
