The ProMedia Group Strengthens Sports & Broadcast Division with the Addition of Michael Weinman

Tampa, FL, US, September 2nd, 2026, FinanceWire

The ProMedia Group is pleased to announce that Michael Weinman, CTS, has joined the company as Senior AV Systems Engineer, bringing more than 15 years of experience in broadcast engineering, live event production, and complex audiovisual systems integration to the firm’s expanding engineering team.

Weinman joins The ProMedia Group following an accomplished career with the Tampa Bay Rays, where he held a senior leadership role in productions and broadcast engineering. In that capacity, he helped lead broadcast technology operations involving production control rooms, LED display systems, broadcast infrastructure, and game presentation technology, including major control room and video board modernization initiatives.

His addition represents a strategic investment in The ProMedia Group’s sports venue and broadcast engineering practice. As professional sports organizations, collegiate athletics programs, entertainment venues, and media organizations invest in new production facilities and fan experiences, The ProMedia Group is expanding its engineering capabilities across broadcast, IPTV, audiovisual, replay, LED display, and integrated venue technology systems.

Throughout his career, Weinman has designed, deployed, operated, and supported complex technology environments. His expertise includes broadcast production systems, signal routing, RF coordination, Dante audio networking, replay systems, IPTV distribution, LED video systems, and live event operations.

In various engineering and production support capacities during his career, Weinman has contributed to major sporting events and broadcasts, including MLB All-Star Games, the MLB London Series, ESPN productions, LIV Golf events, and the Paradise Jam Basketball Tournament. These references reflect Weinman’s individual professional experience supporting production and technology operations and do not imply an endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation between those organizations and The ProMedia Group.

“Michael’s experience managing broadcast and production systems at the highest levels of professional sports makes him an exceptional addition to our engineering team,” said Ken Avis, CEO of The ProMedia Group. “His technical expertise, leadership, and passion for innovation align perfectly with our commitment to delivering world-class technology solutions. As we continue expanding our sports venue and broadcast practice, Michael’s experience strengthens our ability to support owners, consultants, architects, and general contractors delivering some of the industry’s most innovative projects.”

Rob Boothe, who leads engineering for The ProMedia Group, sees Weinman’s experience as an important addition to the company’s technical capabilities.

“Broadcast and enterprise AV have traditionally required different areas of specialized expertise, but those technologies are increasingly coming together in today’s facilities,” Rob Boothe said. “Michael brings the real-world broadcast experience that comes from operating and managing these systems in demanding professional sports environments. Combining that knowledge with the depth of our existing AV engineering team gives us an exceptional ability to design systems that work together as one complete technology environment.”

A CTS-certified professional, Weinman combines technical expertise with extensive project management experience, including large-scale technology upgrades, system commissioning, advanced troubleshooting, and evaluating emerging technologies to improve operational performance. Earlier in his career, he served as Director of Media at the University of Wyoming, overseeing multimedia systems and departmental technology operations.

Weinman has also remained active in live event production and broadcast engineering, providing technical and operational support for major sporting events throughout his career. He previously served on the Executive Board of the Information Display Entertainment Association (IDEA) and contributed to the organization’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee.

“We’re excited to welcome Michael to The ProMedia Group,” said Ken Avis, CEO of The ProMedia Group. “His background in professional sports, higher education, and live event production broadens our engineering expertise and further positions us to support clients building the next generation of sports, entertainment, and broadcast environments.”

In his new role, Weinman will support the design, engineering, implementation, commissioning, and optimization of integrated technology systems for clients across corporate, healthcare, higher education, government, hospitality, sports, entertainment, and broadcast markets.
