UEX Capital Holdings Serves on South Summit 2026 Startup Competition Jury

Chief Investment Officer Vasyl Zahorodniuk represented the holding on the panel assessing startups across fintech, climate, and frontier technology

UEX Capital Holdings, a Wyoming-incorporated fintech holding company, today announced that its Chief Investment Officer, Vasyl Zahorodniuk, served on the jury of the Startup Competition at South Summit 2026, the forum's fifteenth-anniversary edition, held June 2–4 at La Nave in Madrid. As a juror, Zahorodniuk helped evaluate 100 finalists selected from more than 4,500 applications across 110 countries.

South Summit 2026 drew more than 20,000 participants, around 4,900 startups, over 2,000 investors and roughly 600 speakers. Held in partnership with IE University, the Startup Competition saw record international representation this year, with 100 finalists from 26 nations. According to the organizers, 57% of finalists reported revenue above $150,000, 60% had already raised more than $1 million, and half built their product around artificial intelligence — in line with the edition's central theme, "AI Convergence."

UEX Capital Holdings invests in cybersecurity, green energy and frontier technologies, and the company said its approach on the jury reflected that focus.

"I try to strip everything extra out of the evaluation," said Zahorodniuk. "It doesn't matter who's behind the team or how many followers they have. What matters is whether the mechanics work — where the input is, where the output is, where money actually moves, and where that movement is only promised. The question has to be the same for everyone."

The finalist field spanned crypto and payments, climate technology, digital diagnostics and corporate hiring, among other sectors.

"The teams here are genuinely strong — with a product, with revenue, with a clear grasp of their own economics," Zahorodniuk added. "Events like this put the investor and the entrepreneur in the same room, and everyone knows they were judged on merit."
